One of the ways in which RE subject leaders might make an evaluation of how well they are doing in terms of provision and quality of teaching and learning is to do an audit.
Here is a Schools’ Questionnaire being used in some of the AMV regions to help you.
Please note that there are some additional questions at the end about collective worship. This is not the responsibility of the RE leader, of course, though you may want to get these filled in by the person in charge, or the Headteacher, so that you have a record you could take to a link governor.
Some brief guidance on how to make judgements for Questions 7, 8 and 25 is included at the end of the questionnaire.
After a discussion with colleagues, senior managers, governors and so on, you might contact your local SACRE to see whether they would like a copy of your completed form.
Another way of evaluating your RE provision and quality is to enter the school for the RE Quality Mark, a programme sponsored by the RE Council of England and Wales and which provides national recognition for the work you do in RE. For more details please go to http://www.reqm.org
